Nigerians Below 18 Cannot Own SIM Cards- NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission has reported the preclusion of anybody underneath the age of 18 from enrolling and possessing a SIM in Nigeria.

This is as indicated by the draft copy of the Telephone Subscribers Regulations distributed on the commission's site. 

The commission in adjusted guidelines just permitted persons over the age of 18 to haves SIMs. The guideline was made in accordance with the forces presented upon the commission by area 70 of the Nigerian Communications Act,2003. 

As per Section 57 of the Act, the NCC directed a Public Inquiry on the Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations, close by the draft SIM Replacement Guidelines and the draft Spectrum Trading Guidelines at its administrative center in Abuja on Tuesday. 

At the Public Inquiry, Telecoms monster, MTN voiced resistance to the order adding that the age ought to be 14 years. The NCC kept up with its position adding that the age limit would remain 18 years.
