IGP: "We Will Soon Recruit 20,000 Junior Constables"

Inspector General Of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, Says The Nigeria Police Is Set To Enlist 20,000 Junior Cops. 

The IGP Alluded To This On Tuesday Evening When He Paid A Visit To Gov. Seyi Makinde Of Oyo State At The State Secretariat, Agodi In Ibadan. 

Baba Informed The Governor That Nigeria Police Fully Plans To Expand Its Strength As Far As Junior Cops' Enlistment. 

He Said It Had Solved Every One Of The Issues That Had Been Postponing The Enlistment Cycle, Adding That President Muhammadu Buhari Has Given Endorsement For The Enrollment. 

He Guaranteed The State Government That Each Local Government Region Would Profit From The Enlistment, Saying That The Selected Officials Would Serve In Their Particular Respective Regions After Training. 

The IGP Said That The Enrollment Exercise Would Not Just Extend The Limit Of The Power In Battling Wrongdoing, Yet In Addition Encouraged Its Local Area In Heightened Policing Methodology. 

Baba Said That His Visit Was To Interact With The Police Staff To Help Morale After The EndSARS Protest. 

He Said The Visit Was To Likewise Connect Some Different Partners On The Issue Of Community Policing, Which, As Indicated By Him, Is An Adopted Strategy Of Policing In Nigeria. 

“We Have Not Just Started Now; It Has Started As Far Back As 2004, But It Has Not Been Effectively Used By Both Government And Members Of The Public."

He Beseeched The Governor To Keep Supporting And Helping The Police. 

Reacting, Makinde Educated The IGP That The Police Command In Oyo State Had Been Making An Honest Effort, Helping Out Individuals Of The State And Any Remaining Security Offices. 

The Lead Representative Said That The Police Were Unfriendly When Amotekun Was Set Up, "“Because They Felt That Amotekun Came On Board To Take Up Their Jobs And Responsibilities.

The Lead Representative Utilized The Chance Of The Visit To Demand For The Foundation Of One More Mobile Force Squadron In Oyo Town, Promising That His Administration Would Give The Essential Framework To Its Take-Off. 

He Said The 72 Squadron In Ago-Are, Which Was Endorsed By The Previous IGP, Was Helping With Tending To Security Challenges In Oke-Ogun Pivot Of The State.
